Comrad, formerly operating under the name of Software Innovations, was formed in 1987 for the purpose of developing and supplying information systems for the medical market. Since this time, Comrad has evolved with a focus specifically on providing software products for the radiology market and is now the leading provider of radiology information systems within the New Zealand marketplace. In 2002, the name of Software Innovations was changed to Comrad to bring the name of the company in line with its main product called Comrad. The Comrad product at this point in time had evolved into a fully featured Radiology Information System (RIS) with the purpose of meeting all the information technology needs of today’s radiology department or practice.
Comrad operates from offices located in central Christchurch and Mairangi Bay in Auckland, New Zealand. Comrad now has distribution channels operating into Australia. As a result, we provide product and services to clients throughout New Zealand and Australia. Our core strengths are in software development and support. Comrad also resells and supports other vendor’s products that are complementary to its core products particularly where integration of the products will significantly empower our customer’s ability to perforn their core business.

This has seen the involvement of a new major shareholder with the ability to bring added financial substance to the company.
