Ballarat Health Services (BHS) recently went ‘live’ with COMRAD RIS in their Radiology Department in the Base Hospital. BHS is the largest regional hospital in the Grampians region (Victoria, Australia), and as such, is the principal referral hospital for the entire region, which extends from Bacchus Marsh to the South Australian border, an area of 48,000 square km. The BHS Radiology Department conducts more than 80,000 examinations per year and offers “state-of-the-art” low radiation dose digital technologies.
At BHS, the COMRAD RIS is integrated with their Siemens PACS imaging system. The RIS-drives-PACS integration allows for a positive end-to-end experience for the BHS outpatients and inpatients, and for efficient workflow for the BHS department. The reporting of the patient imaging and procedures is made easy with this seamless COMRAD-Siemens integration.
The COMRAD RIS is also integrated with the BHS Hospital Information System (HIS) allowing the hospital clinicians to access the patient information from COMRAD.
BHS referring physicians will soon have access to their patient reports and images via a secure website log in.
